The communications driver in Telix v2.10 did not work in about
5% of the machines encountered. This release fixes that problem as
well as a few other bugs that were reported.

This file describes the changes in Telix since release 1.10, as well
as any bugs that have been fixed. Changes include:
o The SEAlink protocol has been implemented. This is a very fast
sliding window variation of Xmodem that was developed by System
Enhancement Associates (SEA). Basically, as long as no errors
occur, data is being sent continuously during a SEAlink trans-
fer. Expect a speed increase of 15 to 25% over normal Xmodem.
Even better, as the baud rate goes up, so the speed increase
gets larger. The Opus BBS system supports SEAlink as a file
transfer protocol.
o The layout of the dialing directory has been greatly changed.
It is now controlled by a 'Lotus-style' menu which is much eas-
ier to use. As well, the layouts of most other menus have been
slightly changed.
o Host Mode now has two access levels, with the second giving the
user full path access. As well, the remote caller may now shut
down the Host Mode, if s/he enters the appropriate password.
o Ymodem Batch has been added as a file transfer protocol.
o Modem7 has been added as a file transfer protocol.
o The comm driver has been rewritten and is a lot smarter. When
you leave Telix it will restore the comm port to EXACTLY the
sate it found it in. As well, if you exit to a DOS shell while
in Telix and run a program which modifies the state of the comm
port, upon returning Telix will automatically re-initialize the
port to its proper state.
o The separate configuration program has been eliminated and re-
placed by a built in Configuration Menu.
o When performing a file transfer on a bbs, Telix will try to
guess the name of the file you want to transfer, based upon
your past keystrokes.
o Full editing has been implemented whenever a string must be en-
tered. Use the Left, Right, Ctrl-Left, and Ctrl-Right arrow
keys to move in the string. Use the Del key to delete chars,
and the Ins key to toggle Insert/Overstrike mode.
o When you press Alt-R to redial a previously entered list of
numbers, the list is actually displayed and you may edit it at
will, inserting and deleting entries.
o Telix now asks DOS for the date and time format to use when
displaying date and time respectively.
o Many mysterious problems were caused by faulty memory alloca-
tion routines. These routines have been fixed and the problems
have gone away.
o Some bugs related to the mono text adapter have been fixed.
o A rather nasty bug in the Session Log has been fixed. Telix
would occasionally fill up the disk with the same piece of text
when writing to the Log.
o A few small bugs in Telix's support of ANSI graphics have been
fixed.

This file describes the changes in version 1.10 of Telix, as well as
the bugs that have been fixed. Changes include:
- A MUCH improved manual with no spelling errors, an index, and
more examples. This is worth printing out.
- A split-screen chat mode.
- A host mode, including automatic speed detection, file trans-
fers, a remote dos shell, and operator paging.
- An improved redial window.
- Multiple dialing directories. You could for example keep a di-
rectory for each city you call, or have another directory with
friends' numbers.
- More dialing directory editing commands, plus a print directory
command.
- Improved ASCII file transfers that can be configured to your
needs.
- Telink upload implemented (only download was available before).
- Telix now works with monochrome text cards. The bug in Telix
v1.02 that caused the mono card problems has been fixed.
- Command line switches to run a script file upon startup, as
well as some other functions.
- Even more powerful script files. While a script file is run-
ning, the user has complete control. For example, while a
script is waiting for a string, the user can view the help
screen, start a file transfer, or initiate any command nor-
mally available. This also means that if a script goofs up the
user can correct the problem without having to abort the
script.
- Script files can now be assigned to function keys.
- More script commands.
- Upload filenames now accept global characters.
- An Upload directory.
- "Dos command" command. You can now execute a dos command with-
out having to exit to a dos shell, eg. "list Telix.doc",
"copy a:*.arc c:", "arc x Telix.arc", etc.
- Redial improved to work with more modems.
- The Kermit protocol can be configured.
- Automatic incoming file renaming for batch transfers. If an in-
coming file during a Telink or Kermit transfer already exists
it is automatically renamed.
- Screen Image command to save the current screen to a file.
- Due to some advanced routines, you should get even less errors
or problems with noisy phone lines. Telix file transfers how-
ever, are still the fastest!
- Telix now works better with the PCBoard Ymodem protocol. Due to
a bug in PCBoard, Telix had some problems before.
